3 Rainbows-The Awesomeness of God

I often find myself in Awe of the beautiful creation around me. I think it is such an amazing display of God’s Majesty and Power. Sometimes it takes my breath away. There are a few things about creation that are my favorite of course. A child being born (especially my own) is number one. Hearing that first cry and seeing them for the first time. Wow it is amazing! A few of my absolute favorites are the vast Ocean, the mighty Mountains, the beauty of flowers, all the many different and unique animals and Rainbows.

This past week or more Utah has been a very wet place to be. It has rained and rained and poured. Londy and I keep wondering if we will ever have summer and be able to go swim in our pool. There has also been a bunch of lightning and thunder, another one of God’s great displays of His Awesomeness. This past Thursday we were leaving a wedding rehearsal and it was just pouring outside and yet the sun was shining so brightly. As we walked very quickly to the car Londyn started screaming. She wasn’t screaming because she was hurt at all but because she could see a rainbow. In fact, it wasn’t just one rainbow or two rainbows but three rainbows. Wow, it was awesome! The next thing that came from our little girl’s mouth was “Thank you God!” And you should’ve just seen her face, she was absolutely awestruck. She then went on to say in her own cute little way, “I can’t even besplain (explain) this.” It was also the very first time Brayden had seen a rainbow so he was just as excited. For twenty minutes or so we watched as we drove from Bountiful to Taylorsville where we live. It was so awesome and I was praising God all the way home not only for one rainbow but three rainbows and that my kids and I got a chance to see it. I was also praising God for their reactions because I knew that they got to see one of the Wonders of God and they were amazed by it.

As a little girl I remember sitting on the grass in my back yard in the pouring rain every time there was a rainbow and just thinking Wow Awesome! At that time I didn’t really know God but I see now that God was Wooing me. That He was showing me just a little piece of who He was. I pray that as each of you go through life that you would look around and see God. And not only see Him but know Him. You see rainbows are not just a display of God’s awesomeness but a reminder of His promises, His faithfulness and His love for all of us.
