Blessed Beyond Measure!

I’m taking a little break on blogging on forgiveness. Well, not really, because I’m learning many lessons right now on forgiveness, so I do have a lot I’d like to write about. I am still reflecting (that is why I haven’t blogged in a good while) on what I am learning. In the mean time, being this time of year, I really wanted to take the opportunity to express how thankful I truly am.

A few weeks ago, the kids and I made a large turkey out of poster board and hung it in on the wall in our stairway. Then we made feathers that we’ve been adding to our turkey’s body until Thanksgiving. Each day, I have been writing down what my children are thankful for on the feathers and adding it to the wall. It has been so neat to see the BIG things they are grateful for, as well as the simple, everyday things that seem so small. You know, the things that we can just take for granted. It has been a real challenge to me personally to be thankful in the same ways.

As I’ve taken the time to thank God for His complete goodness and provision towards me, the words that come to mind are, “blessed beyond measure.” There is no other way to put it! I couldn’t even list all blessings that I have been given personally, as a daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. Realizing that I am blessed beyond measure has been a huge lesson for me. It seems to put things into the right perspective. I often find myself looking at the things that I don’t have, the things that I think I need, and the things that I want rather than what I have already been given.

So today, I want to say, “Thank you GOD for everything!”

Thank you God for who you are and for all that you offer me. I would not know true life, true love and truth itself without you. Thank you for hope and peace that passes all my understanding and grace that I don’t deserve.

I’m thankful for my husband who selflessly loves me and gives so much of himself. For being my best friend and for the way he pushes me to know all the more, who God is, and who He created me to be.

I’m thankful for my little priceless treasures, my kids! They give me so much joy and love. They teach me so much about life and what truly matters.

I’m thankful for my family both near and far. Especially my parents, who have cared for me since birth, loved me in good and bad times and instilled in me many great things.

I’m thankful for friends especially those who are close and have been an encouragement and poured into me as I walk this journey. I consider my friendships among the big things I’m most grateful for. Thank you!

I’m also grateful for the everyday, temporary stuff. I’m thankful for our home, vehicles, food, clothing, and as Brayden once said, “our table”. There is so much to be thankful for in the everyday. All made possible by the Lord!

Thank you God!

I pray you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Don’t forget to give thanks and count your own blessings and know where they came from. You will be amazed when you do!

1 Chronicles 29:11-13

"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power

and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,

for everything in heaven and earth is Yours.

Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;

You are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from You;
 You are the ruler of all things.
In Your hands are strength and

power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give You

thanks, and praise Your glorious name."
